1st All Africa Horticulture Congress “Grown under the Sun”, Nairobi, Kenya

The Global Horticulture Initiative is pleased to announce the 1st All Africa Horticulture Congress to be held August 31-September 3, 2009 at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of this African horticultural congress is “GROWN UNDER THE SUN”
The conference is aimed at bringing consumers and producers together and facilitating the interactions between researchers, consumers and producers. The conference is expected to promote and facilitate public-private sector partnerships/linkages in horticulture, to give rise to a forum for dissemination of horticultural research innovations and joint formulation of proposals, and to encourage training and education in the horticulture industry to attract young and skilled entrepreneurs. This congress will also provide information on the trends in horticultural trade, promote consumption of fruits and vegetables within local communities for improved health and promote horticultural production practices that are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
