Joint Statement on Agricultural Biodiversity
On 17 May, the Platform for Agrobiodiversity Research (PAR) – together with Bioversity International – made its second formal Statement during discussions at the Fourteenth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA 14) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). SBSTTA14 was held at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya from 10 to 21 May 2010.
The PAR Statement was made in response to Agenda item 4.1.1 Agricultural Biodiversity: Follow-up to requests of the Conference of the Parties in Decision IX/1. Together with Bioversity International, the Platform for Agrobiodiversity Research will continue voicing for follow up to the Review the CBD programme of Work on Agricultural Biodiversity conservation.
